Dear Reader and Truth Seeker-
We are ALL seeking at some time or another. We seek to find the best prices while shopping, we seek to grow plants that we like, some of us seek out movies and tv shows that match how we are feeling. So many things to seek out! That was me! I did that too. It has led me to a new pathway of study at Unity Village, MO, that of ministerial studies. Presently, I am the Unity Director which tells you, I bring Unity into our community and I love it! Unity of Orion has been blessed with a beautiful opportunity to service a larger community than we could possibly hold within our building. For this we are grateful. Since 2018 one to two columns run every month in The Lake Orion Review and nearly monthly in Body, Mind, Spirit Guide too. These columns provide positive, uplifting messages to a much larger and expansive community. The teachings are kind and full of hope which validate- it is possible to use spiritual teachings to change our lives. Being introduced to Unity by my neighbor Elsie Hornbeck in the 90′s, I found it to be an example of positive living. Definitely different than the church I grew up in and more like what my image of a “loving God” would be like. I find the teachings expansive and unlimited, with the metaphysical interpretations filling my thinking mind with truths and it balances well with my self-help ideals. It wasn't until 2008 when I actually began attending Unity of Lake Orion with Elsie. The minister at that time was Reverend Gregory Guice. During one of my very first visits he spoke about the energy on the outside of the body. I recall being amazed that I was in a church and it was okay to talk about the energy on the outside of the body. Your aura fields, your emotional bodies, that which I had worked with already. These are fields that God has surrounded us with. This deepened the interest I had already found within the Unity teachings. Many of you might know that feeling of “coming home” when you walk into your church. You are immediately comfortable as if your heart has always been a part of it and that's how you should feel! All my columns are written with the love, joy and peace that I have within after becoming a Unity Truth Student. Each one written with the prayer that it will be exactly what God wants it to be. Affirming with God that they will awaken the hearts of those who are looking to be in the presence of a loving God. Also as a place for those who have strayed away from traditional churches yet want to be spiritually fed. (That is spiritually fed with no dogma.) In keeping with the Unity thoughts of getting the word into the hands of many, all the columns I have written are free for you to distribute. They are in pdf format so you can print and distribute to those you feel might be blessed with this knowing.
